Today I logged my 183rd consecutive 3 mile run. Been doing this Every. Damn. Day. In 2016. And I’m gonna keep going right up through the end of the year. But today marked the halfway point. I can’t believe it. Like, literally. It snuck up on me. At first I knew EXACTLY what day it was, as it was pretty easy to count in the first month. Then I started losing track slowly. Now I have to go online to keep track, and I only think to do that every week or so. It’s funny that the further you get from the start, the further the finish line seems, so the less you keep track. And the more you just put your head down and get it done, day after day after day after day.

For some reason I thought the halfway point would come a couple days into July. So when I checked yesterday I was surprised to see that it was in fact today. Halfway there. Wow. When I started this I thought 31 days was going to be a long time. Then I decided to go for 53, in honor of Rodney Speed, who was 53 years young when he passed. Then I threw caution to the wind and just said “fuck it” and decided to go every single day in 2016. Which is a leap year, hence the extra evil total of 366.

It’s been quite the run so far. And I’m looking forward to the next 183 days, and beyond!
